Palo Santo

Bursera Graveolens is the scientific name of Palo Santo, it is a tree occurring in mainly Peru and Ecuador but also in Bolivia and Brazil (Mato Grosso). Palo Santo means “Sacred Wood”. It was widely used in ancient pre-Hispanic cultures like the Inca by Shamans in religious and spiritual rituals as a tool to bring good luck, to dispel negative energies and as a facilitator in communicating with the astral world. When used as an incense it has a strong sweet aroma, very pleasant and comforting.
