Preserving the Amazon and its ancestral wisdom is not a solitary effort; it is a collective undertaking that connects the forest with the modern world. It is with this vision that Sacred Connection walks side by side with the Shawãdawa People in the Aldeia Sagrada Project. More than financial support, our relationship is a vital bridge that helps ensure the voice and knowledge of Indigenous peoples continue to echo into the future.
The Heart of the Partnership: The Kupixawa and the Healing Center
At the center of this shared journey is the construction of the Center for Healing, Culture, and the Training of Shawãdawa Guardians. For Sacred Connection, helping make this Center possible means supporting an act of cultural resistance and a vital public health strategy.
The highlight of this structure is the Kupixawa. Today, the community in the upper Juruá River region lacks adequate spaces for its spiritual practices. The Kupixawa emerges as the essential temple where:
- Identity is strengthened: it is the sacred space for healing and concentration rituals with Ayahuasca.
- Guardians are trained: a dedicated place where young Shawãdawa can learn the secrets of the sacred medicines from their elders.
- Autonomy flourishes: a model of sustainability that uses Indigenous engineering and local materials, respecting the forest ecosystem.
60 Days of Purpose: Turn Your Connection into Impact
Sacred Connection believes that our customer community is a fundamental part of this network of protection. For this reason, we are launching a special campaign: during the next 60 days, 10% of sales of Shawãdawa rapés on our website will be directed to the Aldeia Sagrada Project.
This initiative aims to accelerate critical works that ensure dignity and a stronger future for the Shawãdawa People, such as:
- Water security: installation of a semi-artesian well and solar energy to guarantee clean water for all community members.
- Medicinal reforestation: maintenance of a nursery with 20,000 seedlings to restore sacred plants at risk of extinction, such as mariri and kawá.
- Indigenous economy: prioritizing the hiring of workers from the village itself, promoting autonomy and direct income.
