Bali Hardwood Kuripe – Kambo Power
The word Kambo refers to the healing ritual that’s been a part of certain Amazonian cultures, named after Phyllomedusa bicolo, a giant frog that resides in the tropical forest that secretes poison as both a defense mechanism against predators, or to sudbue its prey.
That same secretion has been traditionally used by indigenous people for ages, to heal and to cleanse the body, since the poison, in controlled amounts and following precise and sacred steps of the ritual, can help strengthen the body’s natural defenses and ward off bad luck. Nowadays, it’s still common for certain communities to make use of Kambo to rid the body of their members of toxins and to treat different health conditions, such as chronic pain, hepatities, anxiety, infections, infetility and addiction.
The figure of the frog itself has been a symbol of fertility for certain groups, and substances secreted by these amphibians have been used by Shamans to embark on spiritual journeys with enhaced perception and senses.
