Le Kuntanawa Yunu Rapé est préparé avec les cendres de tabac habituelles de première qualité provenant du bois et de l'écorce de l'arbre Sapota. L'arbre Sapota produit une excellente cendre qui est très douce au nez. Le mélange tire son délicieux parfum rafraîchissant des feuilles d'un arbre appelé Yunu. Yunu est le nom de cette herbe dans leur langue indigène. En portugais, les locaux l'appellent Lourinho ou Lourim. Nous n'avons pas encore pu retrouver le nom botanique. Le Yunu ou Lourinho a un parfum de menthe très agréable et rafraîchissant qui remonte le moral. Il favorise la purification spirituelle et chasse les énergies négatives.

In the Kuntanawa tradition the healers use it to heal depression. Depression is seen as the consequence of negative energy accumulating in the energetic body. This is from wrong choices, from external influences and as with everything from influences of the spiritual worlds. Negative thoughts attracts negative energies and beings that feed on that energy. As such it becomes a vicious circle where it starts with something that attracts something that makes it worse, that attracts more of what it made worse in the first place. In time this manifests in the physical and becomes real
dis-ease. Kuntanawa indigenous medicine is based on this understanding of interaction between the visible and the invisible. The indigenous healers use the medicines like Rapé, Sananga, Ayahuasca and Kambo together with the herbs of the forest to heal. The Kuntanawa use herbal baths, steam baths, teas and so on. Many times the medicine man takes the medicines to journey and identify the disease and discover the medicine for the ailment. The patient doesn’t necessarily participate. Just the shaman takes the medicines to pray and journey and discover what needs to be uncovered,
