Caboclo Rapé
Caboclo snuff is Rapé that reflects the cultural heritage of the Caboclos, a unique group of people whose history is deeply connected to the syncretic relations between indigenous, European, and African elements that emerged in South America after colonization.
Our Caboclo Rapé makers have a deep understanding of the plants and herbs they use, as well as from the traditional techniques and customs associated with its crafting. The resulting blend of flavors and aromas in Caboclo snuff represents the melding of indigenous knowledge and European techniques, as well as the influence of African traditions.
The use of Caboclo snuff serves as a tangible reminder of the resilience and strength of indigenous communities, and today, the Caboclo people continue to honor their cultural heritage through the use of these special blends.
Caboclo snuffs are being used by Pajés (shaman healers) in their spiritual journeys, during ceremonies and rites, especially those intended for healing and those that involve meditation and transcendency.
What are the benefits?

Caboclo People
Any Rapé that falls under the expertise of the Caboclos carries the same cultural mix of its producers. The Caboclo people are the integration of indigenous tradition, African culture, and European heritage, and represent the uniqueness such a combination results in rather than being a simple sum of distinct ancestries. Their shamanic blends are amongst the strongest varieties of this secular medicine, as Rustic tobacco and Paricá ashes are often used in its making.
What it means to be a Caboclo
According to records regarding the etymology of names given to groups residing in the Amazon Basin area, either by scholars of the peoples themselves, the term Caboclo can mean “inhabitant of the Forest”, and has been traditionally used to describe those of indigenous, African, and European descent. They are farmers, extractors, fishmen, hunters, and keepers of deep, atemporal knowledge.
In Brazil, especifically in the northern state of Amazonas, an entire day is designated to celebrate the rich history and complex contribution this unique group offers to local culture. On the 24th of June, Dia do Caboclo is celebrated.
In Umbanda, another religion that’s widely practised and appreciated in Brazil and other parts of the world, inherited from African customs and sacred practices, the figure of the Caboclo is closely related to Oxóssi, a potent entity that’s connected with Nature yet possesses human power and might, uniting aspects of seemingly distinct strength, such as the Caboclos themselves.
