Yawanawa Rapé – Tsunu
Yawanawa Rapé Tsunu is our all-time favorite. It is prepared with the ashes of Tsunu bark and artisanal corda tobacco of the highest quality. The Tsunu is a tall and majestic tree, being considered one of the most sacred for the Yawanawa people. It is not the same as Pau Pereira as some people clame but a specific three with a very smooth bark. There are different trees around the region that people call Tsunu but the Yawanawa have their original that makes a beautiful cream coloured ash.
Yawanawa Tsunu Rapé
Tsunu snuff has many benefits attributed to it. It is thought to have the power of healing and spiritual strength. It helps with energetic cleansing and to fight physical tiredness. The Yawanawa use it to give strength when working in the field or when going hunting. Tsunu Rapé Heats the body and that is why the people in the forest like to use their Snuff before taking their baths in the river.
Rasu Yawanawa
The maker of our Tsunu is the young and well respected Rasu Yawanawa. Many years ago Rasu was the youngest person to the one year initiation diet guided by his great grand father. He was 16 at the time. For his initiation he was staying many months alone with his guide way up in the forest partaking their most sacred plants. He is from the young generation of the Yawanawa royal family.
He is an accomplished musician playing a variety of instruments. Last year he recorded a music with the legendary Brazilian DJ Alok.
